OUR MISSION
The British Columbia Yukon Halfway House Association is an organization dedicated to promoting the common interests of its Membership to contribute to a more effective justice system.

OUR MANDATE

1. The British Columbia Yukon Halfway House Association is a central organization advocating for community corrections in British Columbia and the Yukon Territory, works with other organizations in a manner that promotes understanding and advancement of our shared vision and values.
2. British Columbia Yukon Halfway House Association members operate inclusive, supportive, and culturally sensitive residences and programs.
3. British Columbia Yukon Halfway House Association and its members advocate for funding practices that assure the viability and stability of halfway houses and safe staffing.
4. British Columbia Yukon Halfway House Association members work together with communities to promote offender reintegration and public safety.
5. British Columbia Yukon Halfway House Association and its members promote community releases and the effective use of community resources such that all offenders are placed in a least restrictive environment that promotes personal growth and safe reintegration at the earliest opportunity.
6. British Columbia Yukon Halfway House Association members work to promote the interests of all Community Residential Facilities through the free exchange of ideas, knowledge and skills.
7. British Columbia Yukon Halfway House Association and its members work for the good of all programs and residential services promoting best practices in community corrections.
8. British Columbia Yukon Halfway House Association members believe that voluntary, not for profit organizations are the best method of community integration and program delivery.
