Who we are

WHO WE ARE

The Regional Halfway House Association (RHHA) represents over 130 community-based residential facilities in Canada. Together, we support the gradual and safe reintegration of federal offenders in Canadian communities.

SUPPORTING SAFE, GRADUAL REINTEGRATION

As an organization, our mission is to ensure the successful reintegration of offenders into the community through the use of evidence-based programs tailored to suit the needs of our clients. RHHA advocates for improvements in training, funding, and support strategies for community-based residential facilities.

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

Our members strive to ensure that offenders released into communities are equipped with the skills and resources they need. RHHA members provide culturally-sensitive and gender-specific programs designed to address the specific needs of diverse groups. Effective programming strategies will contribute to increased public safety by ensuring the safe transition of offenders into the community. Effective consultation practices will help to ensure that our facilities maintain strong ties with local communities.

A POSITIVE IMPACT

RHHA supports its members in their aims to engage with communities and create an awareness of the positive impacts of community reintegration and the important role that community-based residential facilities play in the social rehabilitation of offenders. In order to encourage the timely exchange of information and resources, RHHA has provided its members with a web-based communications tool designed to facilitate networking and knowledge-sharing.
