Description

The Okanagan Halfway House Society is a non-profit organization that operates 3 halfway houses in Kelowna, B.C. Robinson House offers accomodation and supervision to clients on all forms of conditional release. Residents are expected to fulfill all conditions of their release, attend CSC directed programs, follow curfew guidelines, and report in as required. The house is "dry" therefore, all alcohol and drug consumption is prohibited regardless of release conditions.
All residents are assigned chores and are encouraged to seek and maintain employment once they are familiarized with life in the community. The house is centrally located within walking distance to downtown, malls, & beaches.
It features 10 private bedrooms, common area including living room, kitchen, dining area, laundry room, and parking spaces. Our philosophy is that we exist in order to assist persons on conditional release during their transition to life in the community. Because each resident has his own set of challenges to face, the society believes in taking an individualized approach to each client. All staff are trained in modern correctional procedure, and are committed to the core philosophy. Our staff work within the constraints imposed by release conditions of each individual in the communal environment of the halfway house.
