Description

The Okanagan Halfway House Society is a non-profit organization that operates 3 halfway houses in Kelowna, B.C. Bernard Place is a brand new 10 bed facility that specializes in assisting the aging and mobility challenged population. It caters toward residents on conditional release who do not require a highly structured environment. The house is centrally located within walking distance to downtown, malls, & beaches. There are 10 private bedrooms, common areas include; living room, kitchen, dining area, laundry rooms, and parking spaces. Our philosophy is that we exist in order to assist persons on conditional release during their transition to life in the community. Because each resident has his own set of challenges to face, the society believes in taking an individualized approach to each client. All staff are trained in modern correctional procedure, and are committed to the core philosophy. Our staff work within the constraints imposed by release conditions of each individual in the communal environment.
